Images of Fairtrade

Fairtrade Evening Event
in support of Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees

with Darren Rees and Humphrey Pring

The Drive Methodist Church, The Drive, Sevenoaks TN13 3AE
Traidcraft and Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees stalls will be available in the church from 7.00pm

Darran Rees took the photographs that helped launch cafédirect, the pioneering Fairtrade coffee and tea company in the 1990's.

Darran travelled to remote regions of tea- and coffee-growing areas in Peru, Tanzania, Mexico and Nicaragua to photograph the artisans, growers, their land and communities, taking striking images that were used in cafédirect's distinctive advertising.

Darran is joined by Humphrey Pring, who as marketing director at cafédirect for five years commissioned some of Darran's work.

Darran will talk about his images and the practical challenges involved, and Humphrey will then open up a discussion about where cafédirect and Fairtrade are heading now.
