Terry Waite to visit Otford

St Bartholomew’s Church, Otford

To mark the completion of their reordering and redecoration project, St Bartholomew’s Church, Otford will be welcoming Terry Waite for a special evening on Saturday 19th May at 6.30pm, when Terry will be in conversation with former BBC broadcaster, Nick Page.  This will be followed by a reception with canapés, and Terry’s books will be available to be bought - and signed.

Terry Waite, as the international envoy for the Archbishop of Canterbury during the 1980s, successfully negotiated the release of British hostages, first from Iran and then from Libya. Then, when trying to do the same in Lebanon, he was himself taken captive and held for nearly five years - most of that time in solitary confinement.

Tickets for this evening cost £20 and are available now from the church office on st.bartholomews@otford.net  and from Joan Beacom (01959) 524304.
This event is likely to be a sell out, so please obtain a ticket in advance to avoid disappointment. Thank you!
